About Dr. Sabra

The right treatment for a thyroid nodule is rarely obvious, and surgery is not always the answer. I offer the full range — observation, in-office biopsy, RFA, and surgery — and a careful conversation about which path actually fits your situation. You should leave our first visit understanding your nodule, your options, and the trade-offs of each.

Dr. John P. Sabra is a board-certified surgeon with more than two decades of focused experience in the evaluation and treatment of thyroid and parathyroid disease. His clinical practice is dedicated exclusively to comprehensive, patient-centered care for these disorders. Dr. Sabra has particular expertise in minimally invasive thyroid nodule management, including radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for patients seeking effective non-surgical treatment options. He offers the full spectrum of care — from in-office ultrasound and fine-needle aspiration biopsy, to minimally invasive therapies and complex thyroid and parathyroid surgery when indicated. This integrated approach allows referring physicians to send patients to a single, trusted specialist, reducing fragmented care and avoiding unnecessary multi-site visits. Patients receive individualized treatment plans that emphasize safety, excellent outcomes, and personal preference, with clear communication and coordinated return to their referring providers. Outside the office, Dr. Sabra serves as Chief Medical Officer at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), overseeing medical care for Formula 1, MotoGP, World Endurance, and NASCAR events — a role that requires the same standards of preparation, decisive judgment, and team coordination he brings to the operating room.
